addictive games or beautiful art
The binary world has made massive steps forward in the past century. From few pixel based games to games that you can be completely immersed in an imaginary world for hours on end. These pixels have created complex world that and an unlimited amount of options for the players. These games can become extremely dangerous. People become so involved in these other worlds that they loss their real lives because they can't leave their computer, and they slowly draw away from their friends and family and their live deteriorates.
On the flip side Pixels have also helped created beautiful pieces of modern art that embrace the pixaled look. Video games can be breath taking pieces art that take years of work and have beautiful and colorful graphics. These are the graphics that the designers work so hard on and what makes video game design an art.

stretch 5000
Stretch
5000
My consumer product would be the
stretch 5000. It would be a can cozy that could fit any size drink. It would be
able to do this by stretching to virtually any cup, mug, or bottle size. It
would come in a variety of colors, blue, white, red, yellow, purple, and black.
How it would work is there would be very thick but stretchy straps connecting
the ring on the top and the bottom. These straps are what would allow the cozy
to stretch vertically to virtually any length. The top and bottom ring would be
the same stretchy material as the straps as to allow it to stretch to virtually
any girth.
This
product seems very useful for it seems like you’d never have to buy another
cozy again, but it actually doesn’t do the job of a cozy at all. The job of a
cozy is to keep your drink warm or cold depending on the drink and to protect
your hang from an overly cold or hot can or mug. But with all the spaces in the
stretch 5000 it would be able to do any of those functions because the spaces
would allow the heat or cold to escape the drink and the spaces would also
allow the heat or cold to irritate your hand while holding the drink.
Over
all the stretch 5000 would sound like a useful product to keep around the house
but in actuality it is completely useless due to design flaws.

Gotterdammerung opera to video game
Gotterdammerung from opera to video game

Art and Technology
This opera lends its self to a video game due to its
Goal oriented plot line, which is to get the ring, and the characters who are
fighting against one another. It also gives an evil character who is Hagen and
who is the final character to be defeated in order to win the game. The game
will start out by the player picking their charter which will be one of the
three Rhinemaidens. They will then continue through each level which will be
comprised of one challenge and then a character that the player will have to
defeat in order to continue to the next level. In the end they will receive the
ring and destroy the Hall of the Gods in order to win.
After picking a character the player will be put in an
underwater world which is the Rhinemaidens home. The Rhinemaidens will appear
slightly see through and spirit-like underwater because they are the spirits of
the water. The player will have to collect 300 hundred gold coins in the river
while avoiding the fish. If the player runs into the fish they will have to
start the collecting process over. Once they have collected 300 hundred gold
coins they will have to fight the norms. The norms are old mystical women that
sit around a tree and predict the future. Each time the player has to battle a character
a board of weapons come onto the screen and the player will have to pick which
weapon they want to use to battle the character they are battling. They will
have a choice of a spear, a sword, a bow and arrow, or a catapult. In order to
defeat the character they have to strike them a certain amount of times and the
amount of times the character needs to be struck will change based on the
level. The Norms need to be struck five times in order to be defeated. Once the
Norms are defeated the player continues onto the next level.
The player will then have to walk to Waltraute’s Cave which is in the
forest between the river and the
Hall of the Gods. Waltraute is a fierce warrior and she will defend her cave
till death. First you will have to use a spear that will be found in the
beginning of the cave to fight her large black guard dog. In order to defeat
her guard dog the player will have to strike it in the head. Once struck in the
head the dog will die and you will be able to proceed to battle Waltraude. In
order to defeat her the player must strike her eight times.
Once the player has defeated Waltraude they will proceed through her cave
to the Hall of the Gods. In the field in front of the Hall there are dragons
guarding Gutrune who is the goddess sister of Gunther. She will be in front of
the gate of the hall. The player has to avoid all of the dragon’s fire as they
run across the field. If the player is caught in the flame they have to re
start at the beginning of the field. Once across the field the player will have
to battle the Gutrune and she requires eleven strikes to be defeated.
The player will then processed to the door of the hall which will be
locked. The player will receive a fire catapult which they will have to use to
break the lock on the door. Once the lock is broken the player will proceed
into the first room of the hall where they will have to fight Gunther who is a
God and brother of Gutrune and Half-brother of Hagen. In order to defeat
Gunther the player will have to strike him fourteen times.
The player will then process into the throne room where Brunnhilde will
be standing in front of the thrones where Alberich and Hagen sit. Brunnhilde
will be shooting arrows at the player who will have to hit her bow with one of
their own arrows and knock it out of her hand in order to be able to get close
enough to battle her. Brunnhilde will require seventeen strikes in order to be
defeated.
Once Brunnhilde is defeated the player will have to battle Alberich who
is Hagen’s father and he requires twenty strikes and an arrow through the heart
in order to be defeated. While battling Alberich the player will also have to
avoid the lightning bolts that Hagen will be throwing at the player. Once the
player has defeated Alberich they will battle Hagen who is the one in possession
of the ring. In order to defeat Hagen the player will have to strike him Thirty
times and once they have struck him thirty times the player will receive a
magic spear that they will throw and have to hit Hagen in the heart in order to defeat him.
Once the
player Defeats Hagen they will receive the Magic ring back. The Rhine River
will then flood washing away the Hall of the Gods and the game would be over and
the player would win the game.

The evolution of animation
It is very interesting to look at how animation has changed and evolved over time. It started out as purely black and white drawings and has moved into the ability to use cgi and other computer programs to make life like animations. This progression would not be possible without the technology that has been invented in the past 60 some years. This progression of Art with the assistance of new technology ties into our class prefect and it makes me think about all of the progress we have made as a society in the animation world and the art world in just the past decade.

using technology for the purpose of story telling.
I was thinking that all the technologies from this past section( from shadows o film), from the wayang or shadow shows to modern day animation are all was to tell stories. We as humans have created different ways to express our stories of the human condition. We have an explainable desire to express how we think and feel through stories of our experiences or stories that represent a theme we see in the world. Because of this desire we have invented different medias to use such as the camera and then moving pictures by Eadweard Muybridge
