possible advancements

I think eventually will be able to live in a completely digital world if we so choose. It would be like the role playing games or sims but instead of watching your character you could be your character. This type of immersion could bring about a lot of interesting things like training for soldiers, or cops. People could also go on vacation without leaving their house. The problems with this would be some people would prefer to live in the virtual world compared to he real and this could severely impact their lives.

Makerbots

Makerbots are going to bring about so many new advantages in society. They are going to allow people to work out many different design ideas in a relatively cheap and easy way. It will also allow people so see their designs from all angles instead of flat on a piece of paper. People will be able to create anything they could imagine. This virtually unlimited amount of possibilities will open so many doors; one door that will be opened is in the medical field. In  the medical field they are making synthetic body parts that help people who are ill.

You can find more innovation that the makerbots have done below:

Music vidoes and operas

I was a little confused at first when I watched a opera followed by a Katy Perry music video, but then I started to noticed the similarity between the two. Both had a heavy efface on costumes and both we re ascetically very pleasing. They also both used costume changes and well done scenery to make the mood. I thought how well down the setting was very compelling in both the operas and the music videos and it created a more interesting pieces of art. I would never have thought that two genres of music that are so different when played back to back could be so similar. This makes me wonder how many different types of art that seem really different are actually very similar.

What people see as art has changed through out history. During the time of the Ancient Greeks there was a very defined set of things that were considered art, those being the fine arts. As time has gone on artist and art has been expanded and pushed to it's limits by expressionists and performance artist and some like my brother would say sports can be an art. Art can be applied to craft beer to furniture to really anything in the modern day it just depends on who you ask.

Different types of art
Painted skateboard

Classic painting

abstract Painting

Craft Beer
Hand made furniture
Concert
An Amazing dunk
great save
Fashion

Art has expand so much over the years.

Technology has always been the technical advances in society. First we made wheels and ingratiation and wagons, and then many years later came the computers, internet, and iphones. These advances have helped society get to where it is today. Technology helps in every aspect of life including art.

Types of technology
wheels
sprinklers
cars
computer
phones

Art and technology seem very different but they are intertwined because without the technology you wouldn't be able to make a painting because the paint brush is a technical tool, and without art and beauty you wouldn't be able to make a sexy red sports car without understanding art and how to make something beautiful as well as functional. Many times things that are considered technology are also art.

Microbiologist Raul Cuero

Raul Cuero has a very interesting view on the idea of creativity. Normally creativity would have something to do with art of creating something new. He does not see it that way he sees it as how humans see nature, and today because of so much technology it doesn't allow children to use their creative like he did while he was growing up. This point in the interview was very interesting to me who grew up in a very technology dependent society, and I wonder if Mr. Cuero would think I am less creativity than if I had grow up in a poor society like he did. I also wonder if he had grow up differently would he see creativity the way I do which is when people are able to create something new.

First impressions

My first thoughts about my art and technology class is that i am very excited to learn. The topics that we are going to cover all seem very relevant to art and technology today and will help me in the industry I plan on going into. I want to be able to understand how technology works in order to create art so I will be able to take that into my career as a graphic designer.
